The Everest Three high Passes Trek also known as the Everest Three Pass Trek is as the name suggest all about crossing the high passes of the Everest region. As we are trekking around Everest going clock wise it just natural to take a stop at Everest Base Camp. Trekking in Nepal seeing the mighty Himalayas surrounding you is just incredible! Encountering with the unique Sherpa culture, crossing streams, climbing up to mountain passes higher than 5,000m/16,404ft is an adventure you can’t imagine.
The Everest three high passes trek lets you reach Everest Base Camp by crossing the famous Renjo-La at 5360m/17,585ft and the Cho-La Pass at an altitude of 5,420m/17,782ft. In between we stop at the holy and pristine Gokyo Lake and after visiting EBC we cross the final pass, the Kongma-La Pass at a stunning height of 5,820m/19,095ft! The route of the Everest three high passes
The route across the three passes of Everest takes about 17 days of trekking in Nepal. After arriving in Kathmandu we hold a trek briefing and equipment’s check at the Himalayan Friends office or at your hotel to make sure we are fully prepared for this amazing trek. Most of the hotels are located in and around Thamel where every kind of equipment can be bought or rented, quite convenient and useful.
The flight to Lukla marks the start of our challenge to cross the mighty plus 5000 meters Passes. The views are just incredible and after arriving at Lukla we make sure to hold a last briefing and equipment’s check. Now the trek begins, as we head to Phakding the landscape completely takes us in and the adventure is underway. Seeing those amazing views and being captured by the natural beauty of this region after another day of trekking we reach to Namche Bazaar. Here we hold an acclimatization day to get used to the high altitude. Continuing on towards our first high Pass via Thame and Lungde the Renjo La Pass at 5,360m/17,585ft. After crossing we make our way towards Gokyo Lake, this pristine alpine lake is just amazing and with the views from Gogkyo Ri it becomes only better and better. Now we need to cross our second pass at 5,420m/17,782ft the Cho-La. Making our way east we reach at Everest Base Camp and from here we can head further south and cross the final pass the Kongma-La Pass 5,820m/19,095ft.
